Fri Dec 5th

Burbank- Downtown Burbank is in the Christmas spirit with their tree lighting ceremony.  City Hall will be the place where the tree will be displayed in all its glory.  Santa will be stopping by too.  Event is free.
DTLA-Festival Navideno en la Calle Ocho LA kicks off on Friday and continues on Saturday.  Celebrate Christmas early and help by bringing toys to be distributed to the less fortunate children this holiday season.  Event is free and fun for the whole family.
DTLA-The east coast has Rockerfeller Center and the west coast has temps in the mid-70’s while we ice skate in Pershing Square.  Come on down and get into the holiday season with real ice.  It’s fun for the whole family, complete with activities and music.
DTLA- It’s time to leave your 9-5 on the shelf and enjoy yourself.  FIGAT7TH said so.  Come on down to taste food and hear some music.  There will be food and drink specials all night long.
Glendale-A Baroque Christmas is being presented at the Seventh-day Adventist Church.  It features the sounds of the season in a baroque style.  Event is free but donations are accepted.
Griffith Park-Free admission to the Autry Museum courtesy of the Bank of America.  Show your bank of America card at entrance and get in for free.  How great is that!
Hollywood- Funny women of the world unite! Well sort of, it’s the 1st Annual Funny Women Festival. This 3 night event will have you rolling in the aisles like only a woman can.  Tickets start at $5. Tons of funny women and celebs.
Pasadena-Come and get your culture on at the Pasadena Museum of California Art or the Norton Simon.  Expand your horizons, learn something new and meet interesting people.  Best part, admission is free on the first Friday of the month.
Tarzana- Santa is coming to town!  Bring the kiddos and celebrate the lighting ceremony in Tarzana’s Village Walk area during the Jingle in the Jungle event.  Feel festive with music, lights, holiday refreshments, and the Big Guy.
West Hollywood-Hannah Frost is inviting you to a Holiday event.  You have been chosen to see her winter wears for 2014.  This event will have music and drinks and fashion.  Best part is that it’s free.  Have a merry time.
West Hollywood- Bar Lubitsch is once again handling the hosting duties for a free night of comedy presented by Peachy Keen. This time it is featuring Last Comic Standing Winner Iliza Schlesinger.  This event is totally free, no minimum drink requirements, nada.

Sat Dec 6th

Beverly Hills-TV history is everywhere in Franklin Canyon. Since the 1930’s this location has been used time and time again and the small and large screen.  Take a hike and see Hollywood history.  Event is free.
Beverly Hills– It’s a fabulous night for a moon walk.  The Full Moon Hike is happening at Franklin Canyon.  Get off the couch and get some fresh air. Marvel at the beauty of nighttime nature as it is lit by the moon.  Event is free.
Burbank­– It’s time to give your bike a winter once over.  Walk Bike Burbank is giving your ride a checkup for free.  Come on down.
Burbank-Another Christmas is here and that means it’s time for the Burbank Nativity Scene.  Be amazed by the beauty of the wonders of the season.  See the nativity by the Bob and Dolores Hope Collection and enjoy the choirs and musicians.  There will also be children’s games and projects.  Event is free.
DTLA-Everyone has heard of Comic Con but did you know there is a museum devoted to the comic arts?  Comic Art LA and the Think Tank Gallery have done just that.  Come on down for the inaugural event.  Cost is free and so worth it.
DTLA-Watching a movie in a drive-in is quintessential Americana.  The people at Electric Drive-in are doing it right with their winter series.  The movie for your viewing pleasure is Scrooged with Bill Murray.  This is a personal favorite, watch it every year and you should too.  Tickets start at $7
DTLA-Guy Fieri wants you.  Tested LA is hosting a party and you are invited.  Last season’s winner of Guy’s Grocery Games is kicking off the new season with food.  Wear your fat pants, bring some vino and enjoy a private screening of the next season of triple G.
DTLA-Free concert at LA Live, yes please.  Becky G and Shawn Mendez rock the stage for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign.  This marks the 124th year the kettle has been used during Christmas time to get much needed items for the less fortunate.  Come one down and donate.
Los Angeles-The San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center is playing host for the Sugoi life warehouse sale.  This free event has all the Japanese memorabilia you could ask for, Street Fighter, Pokémon and hello kitty.  Stop on by for that one of a kind gift.
Mission Hills-Andres Pico Adobe is showing everyone what the Las Posadas is all about.  Stop by and learn some Mexican history, be a part of a procession and have some pan dulce.  Event is free but donations are greatly appreciated.
Pasadena-It’s the most wonderful time of the year.  South Lake is putting on Holidayfest. It’s the party with all the trimmings, Horse and carriage rides, photos with Santa, carolers and much more.  Parking and event are free.
Pasadena- Pasadena is one big party today.  One Colorado is having their Holiday party too, guest band is the Wild Reeds.  Stop on by for some merriment and a free Santa photo.  Event is also free.
Silverlake- Silverlake Flea Market is here right in time to get that someone special a one-of-a-kind item.  Stop on by from 10am-4pm to shop.  Event is free.
West Hills-It’s the annual picture with Scuba Santa.  Sports Chalet has been doing this for 15 years now and it never gets old seeing Santa in scuba gear. Stop on by for a non-traditional picture.  Event is free.


Sun Dec 7th

Beverly Hills- Come and see Mary Martin’s Peter Pan before anyone else.  This special screening is free with admission to the Paley.  Be the envy of all your friends.
Beverly Hills-It’s time for a good old fashion Nature Trek.  Lace up those hiking boots and hit the trails with a guide who knows all about the outdoor world around you.  This is a moderately difficult hike so bring you endurance.  Event is free.
Beverly Hills-If you are more of a picture taker than a risk taker, the Capture a Moment in Nature is the event for you.  Beauty is all around us in the outdoors but getting it on film, that’s another story.  Here from an expert and practice the art of nature photography.  Bring a camera and your waking shoes.  Event is free.
DTLA- The 35th SWEA Annual Christmas Fair is at the Los Angeles Theatre.  Stop on by to get some Swedish delights.  $10 per person 12 and over.
DTLA- Kost 103.5 is throwing their Christmasland Street Festival. Come on down to Nokia Live and experience free fun for the whole family.  There will a concerts, Santa and food.
Griffith Park­- Along with your free admission to The Autry you get to participate in American Indian Games.  Take a step back in time to find out what was fun thing to do in an American Indian tribe.  Event is free with your free admission.
Pasadena-The time honored tradition of writing a letter to Santa is still alive at Vromans’ Bookstore.  Hurry in to get your letter off to the big guy before Christmas day.  Event is free.
Venice-Sick of the same old shopping for the holidays?  Come on down to M Steven Beauty Cottage for All Things Bright and Beautiful.  There will be clothes and jewelry and one of a kind things.  Take the bah humbug out of your routine and stop by.
Van Nuys-The Down Syndrome Association of LA wants you to come out and see Santa.  Bring a gift valuing $10 or more and receive a photo and gift from Santa.  Get a gift by giving one.  Hope to see you there.
Venice-One stop shopping is what I am all about.  Come on down to the Shop Lot Venice to get all your gifts in one stop.  They literally have everything including a Christmas tree lot.  Get your shop on pronto.
West LA- 2 Girls, 1 Pup is back.  Tailwaggers & Tailwashers is hold this one of a kind play that you can bring your dog to.  There will be a red carpet, pawparazi and raffles.  Event is free.
West LA- Get those creative juices flowing kids and get down to the Hammer Museum for a DIY workshop.  This time they are making Mega Puppets. Sounds very interesting. Event is free.

Fri Dec 12th

DTLA-It wouldn’t be a blog unless there was one event from the great Grand Park LA.  Come on down for Lunchtime Yoga.  Feel the Zen and Namaste your worries away.  Head back to work with a calm to finish your Friday off.  Event is free.
DTLA-Is your little one stuck in front of the TV all day?  Get off the couch and down to Marsh Park for Mommy, Me and the River.  Learn about the things around while getting a little exercise.  You will be home by nap time.  Event is free.
DTLA-FIGAT7TH is bringing back the summer fun for the winter.  It’s all night happy hour and live music to shake of that week you just finished.  Come on by, have fun and get your Christmas shopping done.

Hollywood-Barnsdall Park isn’t just a summer thing.  It is a host to a variety of events like the BACSAC Holiday art sale, that’s the Barnsdall Art Center Student Advisory Committee. Get those one of a kind Christmas gifts while helping your community.  Event and parking are free.
Hollywood- It’s soo bad it’s good.  Horrible Movie Night is back and this time it’s featuring the classic The Christmas Martian.  Tickets are $8 and popcorn is free plus there are prizes and comedy.  You really can’t say no.

DTLA-End your weekend on a high note, walking with a ranger and learning about River Life.  Yes, there is a river that runs through LA and it has life abounding.  Event is free and open to all families.
DTLA-Send your weekend off on the right foot by putting on ice skates.  The Holiday Ice Rink in Pershing Square is open and ready to get you on ice.  Bring your family and friends and get into some holiday cheer.
Hollywood-Celebrate the festival of lights at the Silverlake Independent Community Center.  There will be food, games and fun.  Event is free.
Pasadena- The Pacific Asian Museum is having a free day.  Explore is museum of Asian culture and learn about the Silk Road and how it has been traced through Europe.
Silverlake-It’s the 2nd annual St Francis of Assisi Christmas Boutique.  Finish up that last minute shopping with some unique finds.  Get some gifts and help out a good school.  Event is free.
West Hills-Teach your kids about Hanukkah at KidZone. Play, sign and dance while learning a little Jewish history.  Of course there is a dreidl spinning contest too.
West LA-It has long been known people eat not only with their mouths but with their eyes.  The Craft and Folk Art Museum is taking you back with traditional garland.  Learn how to string cranberries and popcorn for garland and make wreaths.  Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children. If you are a member of the museum you are free.
