And here we are! The last two weeks of 2016! Does anyone else feel like these days are flying by? The kids are on winter break and we are finally ALMOST done with the holiday decorating and shopping (right??). It is time to enjoy the spirit of what the holidays are about! It’s your final chance to end 2016 with a bang and get out and enjoy all the events and festivities happening here in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Burbank – The Rink in Downtown Burbank is finally here! The rink will be open from 10am-10pm, with extended hours on the weekends…and they even have skating classes!
Griffith Park – Repeating every day through December 31st Griffith Park and Southern Railroad bring back its popular Santa train ride. With magical scenes and thousands of lights it would be a night the kids won’t forget.
La Canada Flintridge – Descanso Gardens in gorgeous color. Their hallmark oak trees and botanic collections will be the stars of this brand new, exciting holiday season light show event. Running through January 8th.
Lake Arrowhead: Santa’s Village originally closed in 1998 this old-time family tradition is opening up the gates! The park may only be open for a few months so make sure you pay your old memories a visit!
Burbank – LEGO Club for Kids will be at the Burbank Central Library from 10am – 12pm for a fun chance for kids to create and build with Legos.
Playa Del Rey – Beach Winter Wonderland, although not in the SFV, sounds like a blast! This is a free event from 11am-4pm and they will have bouncers for the kids, arts and crafts, sledding, Frosty the Snowman and Olaf, and the best part….real snow at the beach!
Sherman Oaks – From 9am – 11pm the Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks will be filling up the mall with Live Holiday Music. This will be happening each weekend until Christmas day.
Universal City: What would the holidays be like if the Grinch didn’t steal Christmas? From today until Jan 1st at Universal Studios (and included with park admission), snap a photo with the Grinch or a 60-foot tree. Catch the Who-liday Singers on the Studio Tour, decorate ornaments, send the Grinch a postcard or sit tight for story time.
Sherman Oaks – The Westfield Sherman Oaks Fashion Square will be hosting a special “Milk and Cookies with Santa”. Santa will be reading stories and sharing his milk and cookies with the kids. There will also be entertainment and crafts.
Sherman Oaks – From 5pm-7pm in front of Macy’s at the Westfield Sherman Oaks Fashion Square there will be a professional ice carver building a beautiful holiday sculpture.
Sherman Oaks – Hosted by the Chabad of Sherman Oaks, the Annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony will be held at 6pm at the fountain by the Cheesecake Factory. Enjoy treats, crafts, and entertainment as you celebrate the first night of Hanukkah.

Pasadena – Kidspace Snow Days will be each day this week from 9:30am-5:00pm and included with admission. With a schedule of lots of fun stuff here this week, you have to check out their website for days and times!
Burbank – For everyone 5 years and older Stough Canyon Nature Center will be hosting a New Year’s “Party and Hike”. From 8:30pm through 12:30am where you can play games, eat snacks, and hike to The View for the countdown to midnight! $10 per person.
