Looking for something fun to do around or near the San Fernando Valley?  Look no further. Here’s a few ideas of things to do and ways to spend your free time over the next few weeks.

Friday 03/07/14

ALTADENA: Take your teens to the Altadena library for Fun & Games Friday.  For ages 11-17.  Free.
SIMI VALLEY: Perhaps you prefer to jive and dance the night away?  If so, head to Big Band Night at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library as a USO event to support our troops.

Saturday 03/08/14

BURBANK: The Burbank High School Swim Team is making it nice and easy for you to ditch those old electronics you’ve left pile up during their Electronics Recycling Drive. I personally have a paperweight of a computer that has been dead for a decade that can now go!
BURBANK: Elsewhere in the city, at John Muir Middle School, can you find new junk to replace the old at the first ever Burbank Junk Trunk Flea Market.
SHERMAN OAKS: Kids outgrowing their current stock of books? Or you’ve watched Finding Nemo one too many times and wished you had a few more to add to their library?  Be a friend to the library and check out the books and media that they will be selling during their Book Sale.
STUDIO CITY:  If your child needs a little boost in their reading skills, try the monthly BARK: Kids Reading to Dogs program sponsored by the Studio City library.

Sunday 03/09/14 **DAYLIGHT SAVINGS**SPRING FORWARD**

PASADENA: Been training to be a sommelier, or just like your friends to believe you know what you’re talking about? Then perhaps heading to the Family Winemakers of California‘s tasting event is where you need to be this coming Sunday!

PASADENA: Celebrate your inner Irish at One Colorado with a St. Paddy’s Day Festival.  Kids crafting, Irish dancers, and live Celtic music will be huge fun for everyone in the family.
TARZANA:  If you’re more interested in the cultural pleasures of life, head to the Tarzana Community Center for The Sounds of Spring featuring the Malibu Coast String Quartet.

Sunday 03/16/14

BURBANK: Fight with your partner over who’s better: Gonzo or Kermit by heading over to Disney Studios for an advance screening of the Muppets as a benefit for a Los Angeles Children’s Organization.
