The summer came to an end, can you believe it? However this doesn’t mean that September has no fun in store for all of us. Check out the latest autumn events for the first 2 weekends of the month and enjoy with your family & friends:

Fri Sept 8th

BURBANK: This year’s Burbank International Film Festival includes local and international independent films including many world premieres. The schedule includes sections for shorts, women filmmakers, student films, sci-fi and iconic anniversary screenings as well as Oscar category feature films. See website for schedule.

COVINA: Covina Police Awards Luncheon: HONORING: Police Officer of the Year, Professional Staff of the Year, Volunteer of the Year. Sponsoring an officer is your chance to say “THANK YOU” Time & Place: 11:30am-1pm at the Covina Field District.

POMONA – LA COUNTY FAIR: One of the largest events in Southern California, the LA County Fair features live concerts, delicious fair food, thrilling carnival rides, art museum, exhibits and a petting zoo. The event starts at 5 p.m. and here’s how to get to the venue.

VENICE – Pilates is one cool way to start the weekend right! The class is for free, starting at 11:30 am with a certified instructor at the Abbot Kinney Memorial Library in Venice. See more here.

Sat Sept 9th

EL MONTE: Community Bike Ride – Join the City Council on a bike ride around the City. Please bring your bike and helmet to partake in an eight-mile bike ride. Bike Rides are recommended for ages 10 and older. Time & Place: 8:30 a.m. at The Community Center: 1530 Central Ave.

MID-VALLEY – Spend an active Saturday morning with ZUMBA! Lessons at the Mid-Valley Regional Library. Starting at 9:30 am everyone’s welcome for an hour of dancing with Lula. Check out more here.

POMONA – LA COUNTY FAIR: Today at the county fair the parade starts at noon and the main attractions will start at 7:30 p.m. with singer Trace Adkins. Click here for more info.

SOUTH PASADENA: Women’s Business Expo – “Turn Your Passion into Power” the admission fee is $10 and includes swag bag of goodies, continental breakfast, lunch, professional head shots, and workshops. Time & Place: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Duarte Senior Center.

Sun Sept 10th

BEVERLYWOOD – The Robertson Branch Library is organizing computer lessons this Sunday. The classes are free of charge and you can see more here.

SOUTH PASADENA: Clean Air Car Show & Green Living Expo – If you own an alternative fuel vehicle that you’d like to show off at the day of the event or you are interested in Green living and environmental-friendly vehicles, you are welcomed at the Garfield Park in South Pasadena this Sunday. Time & Place: 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

CALABASAS: This weekend you can enjoy the Film Festival in Calabasas that showcases major film premieres, student films, documentaries and top quality film selections from all genres that are guaranteed to entertain. See the website for schedule and more information.

ENCINO: Thousands of books, CDs, DVDs, and audio books for sale. Fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books available for purchase. Most books range in price from $0.50 to $1.00. See more information about the event here.

POMONA – LA COUNTY FAIR: Fridays the fair is opened from noon to midnight starting with the parade at 5 p.m. after which follow various events and live performances with the Fifth Harmony at 7:30 p.m. Click here for more info.

RESEDA: Attend a yoga class free of charge with a certified yoga instructor who will teach you how to calm your body and your mind. All levels are welcome; you just need to bring your own mat or towel and water for hydration. See more here.

CALABASAS: The Film Festival in Calabasas continues today and if you haven’t visited so far, do so to attend showcases to major film premieres, student films, documentaries and top quality film selections from all genres. Check out the website for schedule and more information.

MALIBU: Fireball Tim’s Wheels & Waves Auto enthusiasts will show their collections and the entire community can join in to experience eye-catching automotive inspiration. Families, kids, and guests of all ages are invited to enjoy vintage, exotic, and rare cars of all types. More info here.

MONTEBELLO: Come and enjoy the Montebello ArtFest this Saturday. It will be a full day of art, culture, live music, food trucks, drawings, giveaways, workshops, car show, and mural installations. All free for the communities and surrounding cities. Time & Place: 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Montebello City Park.

PANORAMA CITY: Latino Expo is the place to be if you are looking for a great way to gain exposure in the Latino market. Enjoy entertainment all day long while you introduce your business directly to consumers at the Panorama Mall.
