‘Tis the season for the Clark Griswold in all of us to come out. So after you finish watching National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation for the twenty-fifth time, go check out these light displays that would make even Cousin Eddie proud.
- Candy Cane Lane – Woodland Hills – Eight blocks make up this sweet neighborhood light display that’s been going 60 years strong. A little friendly competition ups the ante each year to see who can have the biggest and best display of the year when the folks at Lubao & Oxnard Streets transform their part of town into Candy Cane Lane.
- Lights on Display: Sherman Oaks – You may recognize Lights on Display from The Great Christmas Light Fight on ABC because this is one of the winners! This fantastic display includes a light show, animatronics, music, and an “obsessive” love of Christmas. Go see the light show 6 – 10 p.m. now through Jan. 1, 2019.
- Wakefield Court Winter Wonderland: Saugus – From now through Christmas, traverse the cul-de-sacs of Saugus between 5:30 and 10:30 p.m. to see the 41 lit-up houses that dazzle and delight. If the Wakefield Court Winter Wonderland can’t get you into the spirit of the season, nothing can!
This last one may not be the residence of people, but it is the residence of many –– many animals, that is. Plus, the displays are so fantastic, they deserve a mention.
Still not enough lights for you? Be sure to check out Candy Cane Lane in Woodland Hills, The Grove (where it snows every night!), Christmas Tree Lane in Altadena, and Candy Cane Lane in El Segundo. On your way to these locations, keep your eyes open for more light displays along the way!
