DTLA – Little Tokyo Branch Library organizes a fast Friday movie screening. The movie will start at 2 pm and you can see more here.

LONG BEACH – Long Beach Art Museum – This small museum has a lovely location on a coastal bluff. The collections and exhibits focus on ceramics, early 20th century European art, and California art. Every Friday is a free admission day.

RESEDA – Attend a gentle yoga session for free at the West Valley Regional Branch Library with a certified yoga instructor. You will learn how to calm your body and your mind. All levels are welcome, you just need to bring your own mat or towel and water for hydration. See more here.

VENICE – Pilates is one cool way to start the weekend right! The class is for free, starting at 11:30 am with a certified instructor at the Abbot Kinney Memorial Library in Venice. See more here.

CENTRAL LA – Student Smart: SAT Practice Exam – a full-length practice test where students will get their score results by email two weeks after the exam. Students can use the results from the practice exam to help them understand their strengths and weaknesses and better prepare for the real exam. Sign up here.

DTLA – Join for free “Classic Tai Chi” classes by instructor Bill Cheng. Each class will include “Energy Trilogy” demonstration for 108 Classic Tai Chi forms, as well as questions & answers.

HYDE PARK – Quilting Circle – Do you quilt?  Don’t quilt alone–come join your fellow quilters at this monthly meeting.  For adults over age 18.  No sign-up required. Just drop in at 10 am and start quilting.

SHERMAN OAKS – Used Book Sale – The Friends of the Sherman Oaks Library conducts a monthly sale of books, dvds and cds. Check out the event here.

CENTRAL LA – Craft and Folk Art Museum – You never know what you might find at this smaller museum that hosts a wide variety of exhibitions. Admission is “pay what you want” on Sundays, from 11am to 6pm.

GRIFFITH PARKThe museum formerly known as the Cowboy Museum welcomes families each day for its exhibition of Native American and Western U.S. history.

WESTWOOD – Show And Tell At The Meteorite Gallery – This January event will be a show and tell in which you will be shown and can discuss about some beautiful and important new additions to the Gallery. One of these is a new lunar meteorite “a lunar-highlands breccia” that includes several large angular fragments with different colors (shades of gray) and textures. It is similar to some samples returned from the Moon by the Apollo 16 astronauts. The event is free of charge, happening here.

CENTRAL LA – Arthritis Exercise Workshop for Older Adults – Join in this Friday for a pain relieving exercise starting at 2 pm at the Washington Irving Branch Library. Check out the event here.

DTLA – If you’re a fan of books and reading, why not visit the weekly Used Book Sale at the Central branch library and find your next favorite read.

DTLA – Bring your children and their imagination at the Edendale Branch Library this Saturday for an entertaining afternoon of LEGO brick building activities. The event starts at 9:30 am and is free of charge.

NORTH HILLS: ZUMBA! With Lula – Saturday mornings for a fun cardio dance party! Wear comfortable shoes and clothes and get ready to get your groove on at the Mid-Valley Regional Library. Find more information here.
