If you’ve been following along with my blog lately, you’d be aware that I recently sat an open house at Buffalo Ave.  But what I wanted to share with you a bit more was about the house itself.

Man, what a great home!  Located just down the street from Milliken Middle, on a private cul-de-sac with just one other single family home, sits this great mid-century modern.

5018 Buffalo Ave, Sherman Oaks

I can’t help but think of how great a Mad Men inspired party would be in this 1914 square foot home.  The great living room / dining room combo has enough room to host all of my friends, the built-in bar is the perfect space for all the food and drinks, and an entire corner of floor to ceiling sliding doors allows for my guests to take advantage of our So Cal weather.  There’s even a fireplace if it’s too cold!

With the original floor plan still in tact, there’s tons of reasons to feel optimistic that the wood floors underneath the carpet are still there.  It’ll be a surprise!

Large living room / dining room with bar and easy access to galley style kitchen.
The living room / dining room combo boasts a corner of sliding doors, bringing in all of Southern California’s great weather.
A guest bedrooms and extra guest bedroom/study share a full bathroom and are along a central hallway.

At the end of the central hallway is the master suite–which features a walk in closet and full bathroom.  The bath features a unique drop down tub–great for those with knee problems or medical issues.  And the windows facing the back yard give a tranquil, sleepy feeling.

Last stop on this walking tour: the backyard.

Cozy, private and totally fenced, this shady retreat requires little maintenance.  The great patio is perfect for a summer dinner party or entertaining overflow during a bigger shindig.  And the fruit trees!  Who can say fresh lemonade?!  Just imagine the naps in a hammock in the shade–how relaxing!

Well, that concludes our “walking tour” of the home.  If you’d like to see it in person, feel free to drop me a line or visit me at the open house coming up this weekend.  I might even have a treat!
