Looking for things to do after work or with the family for the Fourth of July?  Look no further, my friends.

Get Out Of Work Thursdays:  For those of you near downtown on a Thursday night, you might want to check out Grand Park’s list of things to do. From 5:30-8pm all summer they’ll be hosting live music, lawn games, and a beer garden.  And for a special even for Independence day, check out their 4th of July Block Party.  Also in Grand Park: June 30th at 7pm a free celebration following Mayor-elect Eric Garcetti’s inauguration to ring in the new mayor.

Pasadena Film Festival:  is also no stranger to free, as the Pasadena Film Festival begins July 5th and continues until July 27th.  Choose from various locations around Old Town for a showing of 20 different films ranging from Annie Hall to The Ring to Chicago.

Independence Day Fireworks:  Here’s a list of local firework extravaganzas to take advantage of!  Know of one I missed?  Send it to me at ChelseaRobinson@RodeoRE.com so I can be sure to add it to the list, also at my blog.

Hansen Dam:  Hansen Dam Recreation Area in Lake View Terrace will be hosting the San Fernando Valley Independence Day Festival beginning at 10AM.  Enjoy a day of picnicking, music/live entertainment, food and fireworks.  They even have a swim lake that will be open to use.  Free.

Hollywood: The Hollywood Bowl will be hosting a 3 day event starting July 2nd, with each night culminating in a firework display.  Musical act all three nights will be Josh Groban and the LA Philharmonic.  Tickets range from $15 to approximately $250 a ticket.

Pasadena: The Rose Bowl has sponsored the “Biggest Fireworks Display in Southern California” for many years now—and this year is no different.  Starting at 2:00PM with food, motorcycle stunts, and performances by Kenny G and Mariachi Divas, the fireworks will close the evening at 9:00PM.  $13 per ticket, children under the age of 7 are free.

Porter Ranch:  The Shepherd of the Hills church will be hosting a free day of fun.  Highlights include over a dozen local food providers to a moon bounce and various kids’ activities to a 21 minute fireworks display.  Free.

Studio City: Held on the CBS Studio Center, the event has entertainment for everyone.  Starting at 4:30PM, events include everything from a children’s fun zone to a Beach Boys tribute Band and car show.  VIP tickets are available for access to a special VIP lounge, rooftop viewing of the fireworks show. Prices range from $10 for kids over 6 years old to $100 for an adult VIP ticket, so be sure to check out exactly which options you want on their website.

Woodland Hills: A Concert in the Park featuring the Los Angeles Pierce Symphonic Winds starting at 6PM, followed by fireworks beginning at 9:08PM.  Free
