Summertime is beach time, and it’s time for you and your dog to hit the sand. But which beaches in the area allow dogs?
Save yourself some frustration by taking note about which beaches are dog-friendly.
Rosie’s Dog Beach – Long Beach – 1 Argonne Ave
This is the only off-leash dog beach in LA County. It’s not a fully dedicated dog beach – the Dog Zone is in effect from 6 am to 8 pm every day. Dogs are not permitted at other times.
Huntington Dog Beach – Huntington Beach – 100 Goldenwest St.
This beach is free to the public and open daily from 5 am to 10 pm. Dog Beach amenities include: public restrooms, parking, a grassy area with picnic tables, and doggie waste bags.
Newport Beach – Newport Beach – 3201 W Oceanfront
Leashed dogs are welcome on the beach before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. At Crystal Cove State Park, leashed dogs are welcome only on the multi-use trail or the paved roads. Corona del Mar State Beach invites canines to its coast from 6 to 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
