I get asked by prospective sellers all the time, “What sort of timing should I expect my house to sell within?” And that can be a difficult question to answer. It might factor in on several things – the agressiveness of price or the condition of the home might be factors. The flexibility of the sellers to show their home can also weigh in on how I would answer. But the California Association of REALTORs recently posted an infographic that I found pretty interesting about how long homes really sat on the market in 2013.
With the inventory shortages we’ve faced in the last year or two, it’s no surprise that homes have been selling fast. Especially if they are priced and marketed right. And just a few weeks ago I posted another infographic about the amount of multiple offers sellers were receiving. But it’s nice to have some numbers to see that a quarter of homes are selling in less than a month! Wow! What I really found staggering was that homes were on the market in 2013 ONE THIRD the time they were in 2012. So what does that mean for 2014? Well so far this year has shaped to be very similar to last years. And I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for it.
