So what do you think? Does technology make buyers smarter? I would say so. Many people are much more informed in locations they might want to explore, agents they might want to use, vendors who might be helpful, and how the process goes along. Simply put, more people are online looking for recommendations and research.
That being said, I don’t think technology has replaced agent representation by any means. I say this in especially when coming to research. Many times I find that a client has looked up a topic – say, first time home buyers have researched what to expect – but then I validate or help confirm their information, or I help with the nuances the research might not mention. Let’s face it – each transaction is special and different and it’s impossible to look up all possible outcomes.
And, that can be said the same of sellers too. So what do you think? Do you simply check out listings and map out neighborhoods? Or are there other things you’re checking out too?
