Valentine’s Day is almost here and it’s the day most of us celebrate that special love we have in our lives. Whether you choose to spend this day with your other half, a first date, or with the friends you love…you can always make the best of it without spending your life savings. Here’s a few ideas I came up with that will sure bring you a beautiful time and on will be easy on your wallet!
Griffith Park – Parking and admission is always free at the Griffith Park Observatory. If you haven’t visited in a while or need a beautiful view and some quiet time with your main squeeze…this is the place to be! Some sparkling cider and chocolate covered strawberries may not be such a bad idea either!
Hollywood – Love the outdoors? Want to include the pups in your fun filled day? Take a hike up Runyon Canyon and enjoy the love in the air! Bring a blanket and picnic for extra points!
Los Angeles – There is something about the Getty Museum and Gardens that brings out the best in people. Admission is free and for just $15 for parking ($10 after 3pm) its a heck of a steal for a day of love and inspiration!
La Canada Flintridge – For just under $10 a person you can walk the amazing Descanso Gardens. This month the camellias, magnolias, cherry trees and daffodils are in bloom and they are sure to delight your senses and create a romantic environment.
Santa Monica – There’s nothing like a romantic walk on a world famous pier enjoying the ocean breeze! Bring the quarters from your piggy bank and make some memories playing foosball or the latest version of Mortal Kombat (if there is one) in the Santa Monica pier arcade!
Lake Balboa – The Japanese Gardens is a beautiful place to visit with its “wet-strolling” garden with waterfalls, lakes and streams, abundant greenery, and stone lanterns. At $5 a person you will find the Zen place your heart desires…and maybe a path to each other’s soul. Hours are Monday – Thursday 11am – 4pm.
Sherman Oaks – If the sun is shining and your feeling giddy…take your golf skills to the Sherman Oaks Castle! At $6.50 a person for a round of miniature golf, you will surely have some fun and laughs! And if you don’t have a babysitter….bring the kids!
