National Volunteer Week will take place during Week 4 of Spring quarter. Be among the students, parents, youth, and elderly who will contribute their time this week to volunteer projects taking place in their local communities. From helping the homeless to planting community gardens, there is a myriad of ways you can make a difference.

Transform Compton

Teen Line Food for Thought Brunch

Teen Line – 22 April, 2018

Teen Line is a non-profit organization located in Los Angeles, CA. They operate a confidential hotline for teens every night from 6:00pm to 10:00pm PST. The Teen Line volunteers who answer the calls, emails and texts are Southern California teenagers who have received specialized training. Teen Line also offers message boards, resources and information.

Free Produce Fair

E3: Ecology, Equity, Economy – 23 April, 2018

This Free Produce Fair is aimed to spread awareness about the food insecurity issues our community faces, educate students about some ways they can help to alleviate them, as well as provide resources for them if they are food insecure. The Fair will be split into 3 sections: 1. Presentation, 2. Market, 3. Tabling Organizations. They need help with the facilitation of section 1 and 2, as well as pick up of the produce from the farmer’s markets the weekend before (4/ 21 and 4/22).

Our mission is to involve parents and communities in their children’s education to achieve lifelong success.Join us on Saturday, April 28 from 8:30am-12:30pm to sort and assemble packages for our annual Passport to Success campaign. Every year we distribute over 10,000 Passport to Success packets so that families know of about free and low-cost museums, and sites that they can visit to keep their children learning during the summer.

Autism Speaks Los Angeles Walk

Autism speaks is dedicated to promotion solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.  Autism Speaks is enhancing lives today and accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow. You have the exciting opportunity to serve as a Volunteer at this year’s Los Angeles Autism Speaks Walk on Sat., April 28th at the Rose Bowl! They anticipate as many as 22,000 walkers, so hundreds of volunteers are needed to make the event run as smoothly as possible.
