Spring is in full swing in Los Angeles as the warm, sweet showers make way for the May blossoms. Check out some of the fun activities that are kicking off in April! Some events are for good causes, some to learn something new and some to just have some good-old-fun!

Fri April 15th

Elysian Park – Dodger Stadium – Enjoy a sweet spring night with the Fireworks at Dodger Stadium! The cost is reasonable and fun for the entire family.

Sat April 16th

Beverly Hills/Franklin Canyon – Take and invigorating hike in the historic Franklin Canyon Park. Tour guides will help you see amazing wildlife while getting your fitness on.
Burbank – Head over to Thomas Edison Elementary for their Spring Carnival.  Not only will there be a craft fair and activities for the kiddos, but also a car show for you automobile afficionados.
Burbank – The Make-up Designory is offering a free 5 Minute Looks Class. Learn quick and easy tips to make the most out of your make-up application time. Hurry though, the class is filling up quick!
Calabasas – Learn Wilderness Survival Basics at King Gillette Ranch . Be prepared and learn the skills to survive if ever lost in the wild.
Glendale – Muggles and Wizards mingle on wheels! The Moonlight Rollerway Skating Rink is hosting the 5th Annual Harry Potter Rollerskating Night! Skate to the music of the Potter movies, enter the adult and children’s costume contest and so much more! Reasonable admittance charges and fun for those who don’t skate!
Hollywood – Throughout the entire month of April, enjoy the Heart of Hollywood Tour. Have you lived here all your life, but never really spent time learning about our Hollywood History? This tour takes you into the nooks and crannies of all things “Showbiz”!
Santa Monica – The Creating Arts Studio presents a live performance of the classic tale of Mulan. In this original adaptation from the Chinese poem, “Ballad of Mulan”, follow the story of Mulan as she seeks to gain honor back to her family. This one hour mini-musical is an interactive theatrical experience for the entire family! Runs 3/19 through 4/16/16.
Westwood/UCLA – Friday the 1st kicks off the Jerry Bruckheimer Film Festival. This month long festival celebrates the classic films that made Jerry Bruckheimer one of the world’s top film makers. The event is hosted by the UCLA Film & Television Archive in conjunction with Paramount Pictures and will be shown at the Billy Wilder Theatre. Admission is free with a $3 (cash only) parking charge.
Various LA locations – Are you from the vinyl generation? April 16th is National Record Store Day! Get back to your roots at various Los Angeles record shops. This one special Saturday each April brings back the joys of analog music and digging and mining for the best vinyl.
Various LA Locations – Join in the fun for Obscura Day 2016! Discover hidden gems, decades-long mysteries and amazing wonders of your home, Los Angeles!
Saturday April 16th, is National Librarians Day. It is a good time to head to your local library, tell them thank you and support your community!

Sun April 17th

Burbank – Head on down to Downtown Burbank for a festival of all things Special Effects! Mingle with more than 100 painters, sculptors, photographers and more as they display their arts and talents.
Hollywood – The Grove – Pottery Barn at The Grove is hosting a Hello Baby Party. Meet with various vendors, and expecting moms can start their registry. Enter a raffle and enjoy lite-eats and drink.
Van Nuys – When is it good to do the 5K? When it benefits an AMAZING cause. Come out and help support Dignity Health Northridge Hospital’s Center for Assault Treatment Services (CATS), for their 14th annual Victory for Victims 5/10k Walk/Run. CATS is the only 24-hour/7-day-per-week immediate response program in the SFV and Santa Clarita Valleys. They provide medical evidentiary exams and interviews for victims of domestic and sexual violence. A good cause can go a long way!

Sat April 23rd

Burbank – Head over to Burbank to see their 35th annual Burbank On Parade and Family Festival. This year’s theme is: “Our Heroes”. Starting at 11am, it travels along Olive Avenue and will give thanks and celebration for those that serve our communities and country. Post parade activities include a car show, music and dancing and a ton of food and fun!
Redondo Beach – Take the trek to the Hopkins Wilderness Park on the coast for the fun and fabulous Seeds of Joy Village – 5th Annual Basket Social. This festival offers games, live music, refreshments, a puppet show and raffles and silent auctions on some amazing goodie-filled baskets! Proceeds benefit Seeds of Joy Village’s preschool and Kindergarten Waldorf education programs and is FREE!
Venice – Immerse yourself in sea of trend at the Westside expansion of the Artisan Flea Market. This hip market conducts business on the first and fourth Saturdays of each month. Take the family out to see some of LA’s most creative artisans as they delight with clothing, jewelry and one-of-a-kind artwork. Saturday March 26 2016 – Saturday April 23 2016

Sun April 24th

Brentwood – Each spring and fall, the beautiful, sleepy town of Brentwood holds their Art Festival. Local artists showcase their work alongside some of the area’s finest food and beverage purveyors. Enjoy the fresh spring air as you sip libations in the beer and wine garden while listening to live music and basking in the ambiance of creativity! Free Admission
DWTN – Hitting its 27th year, All Access Entertainment brings you The Superbowl of Festivals. This early Cinco de Mayo celebration is held in downtown on Broadway Street. Enjoy cultural music by well-known Latin American artists, authentic food and carnival-esque entertainment.
Tarzana – Head out to Tarzana for their annual Russian Celebration! Enjoy Russian folk performances, authentic Russian cuisine, educational lectures, costumes, crafts and so much more!
