SHERMAN OAKS: St. Francis de Sales Annual Holiday Concert & Sing-a-Long – Don’t miss this FREE holiday concert by the St. Francis de Sales Choir. Sing along with your favorite Christmas carols and enjoy music by John Rutter, Hermann Schroeder, PDQ Bach, and Alfred Burt. LONG BEACH: Annual Boat Parade of 1,000 Lights – Begins at 5:30 p.m. and starts at Shoreline Marina. Recommended viewing locations include Shoreline Village, Rainbow Harbor, and the Queen Mary. FREE.

LOS ANGELES: Family Flicks Film Series: A Christmas Story – Showing of the classic movie is at 11 a.m. at the Hammer Museum. The event is FREE, and the museum, as always, is “free for good.”
LOS ANGELES: The Giving Tree musical inspired by Shel Silverstein’s classic story – Los Angeles Children’s Theater’s live musical shares the beloved story through “words, gestures, dance, and music that will delight people of all ages.” The show is only 45 minutes long with no intermission (best suited for ages 3+). Half-price tickets are available through Goldstar.*

LOS ANGELES: Las Posadas – El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument – This Olvera Street tradition since 1930 is a reenactment of the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem. NEWPORT BEACH: Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade and Ring of Lights – Pirate’s Cove – This is the country’s oldest boat parade — in its 110th year for this Christmas tradition! This FREE event starts at 6:30 p.m.
