Fri January 25th
CALABASAS: Calabasas Mommy Meet and Greet and Story Time – The Commons at Calabasas – Meet up with fellow mommies and kids on the last Friday of each month (through April 26), 10-11 am. FREE for moms and their kids ages 2-10.
LOS ANGELES: Latinx Film Festival – UCLA, Northwest Campus Auditorium – Go to the first-ever Latinx Film Festival presented by the Latinx Film and Theatre Association. Attend screenings and panels with creators, directors, and writers. Jan. 25-26, 5 – 9 pm both nights. Click the link above for tickets. This event is FREE!

WOODLAND HILLS: Yoga Soul with Mimosa Flows – Bodies by CeeCee – Take some mom time this morning (and every Saturday morning) for an hour of all-levels yoga and a refreshing libation (with or without a “little kick”) afterward. $10 donation, 10:45
NORTHRIDGE: Free Crafts @ Lakeshore Learning Store – Every Saturday between 11 am and 3 pm, bring the kids ages 3 and up to make a FREE craft. This week’s theme is “Celebrating Our Differences.” No reservations necessary.
NORTH HOLLYWOOD: Farmers Market – City Lot – “Farm-fresh produce, delicious food, baked goods, artisanal products” and more. Every Saturday from 10 am – 3 pm.
Sun January 27th
LOS ANGELES: Be a Monster Day! – Zimmerman Children’s Museum by Sharewell – Preschoolers and elementary school-aged kids will be “making masks and developing their ‘inner monster’ through a variety of fun sound and movement games.” This public program goes from 2 – 4 pm. and is FREE with paid museum admission.
TOPANGA: Topanga Vintage Flea Market – Pierce College – More 150 vintage and antique vendors, plus local artisans, live music, and food trucks. $3 admission for adults; kids 12 and under, veterans, and parking are all FREE.
Fri February 1st
SANTA MONICA: The Iron Giant 20th Anniversary, featuring Brad Bird – Aero Theatre – See the 1999 classic animated film “The Iron Giant” on the big screen and then
MONROVIA: Monrovia Friday Night Family Street Fair – Library Park Memorial Fountain – Head to Old Town Monrovia tonight for the FREE family street fair. Your whole family will enjoy live entertainment, shopping, food, and a kid zone with a petting zoo and pony rides. 5-9 pm, weather permitting; free parking available.
Sat February 2nd
SoCal: Museums Annual Free-For-All Days – Dozens of museums – FREE general admission (does not apply to special-ticketed exhibitions or parking fees). Here’s just a sampling of participating museums: Kidspace Children’s Museum, La Brea Tar Pits and Museum, LACMA, The Getty Center, Rancho Botanic Garden, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, California African American Museum, and the California Science Center. SAN FERNANDO: Sunday Funday – San Fernando Historic Bike Tour – The Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition is hosting a history tour around San Fernando and Pacoima, checking out landmarks such as the Lopez Adobe and San Fernando Mission. Make sure to RSVP. Interested in joining the LACBC? There are 13 chapters across the county. They’re a non-profit group that also takes part in volunteer projects and events. Get on your bike and ride!
LOS ANGELES: LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show – Anaheim Convention Center – Splurge and treat yourself to the “West Coast’s biggest baking and pastry expo.” Cookies, cakes, dessert tables, and more will entice you while you make your way between the five stages and classrooms for all styles of baking. 100% of money earned from the cake competition will be donated to Smile Train for kids and Shriners Hospitals for Children. There will also be a Kid’s Zone. Feb. 2-3.
