Friday May 2nd

BURBANK:  Back by popular demand is Charlotte’s Shorts!  Laraine Newman, member of the famous Groundlings and SNL puts on an hour long comedy routine that is sure to leave you in stitches
HOLLYWOOD: If you want that nightlife scene, look no further than LA Club Crawl AKA Cinco de Mayo Glow Crawl.  Hit up all the top spots as you go from club to club.  It will be one of the best nights you won’t remember.
LAS VIRGINES:  Ever look up and wonder what you are looking at?  Wonder no more, the Las Virgines will do a guided “Guide to the Sky”.

Saturday May 3rd

ATWATER VILLAGE: Not too far from Burbank and Glendale, it’ll be an easy drive to celebrate the famous LA River and get to know the wildlife around us during the Marsh Park spring event..  To top it off, there is a community hot dog roast.
FRANKLIN CANYON:  Take a walk around Franklin Canyon showcasing the shows that have featured the area from small screen to big.
DOWNTOWN:  The best place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo is at Olvera Street.  Hands down.  The annual event features food and folkorico dancers along with piñatas–all while enjoying the historical area. Event runs all weekend if you miss out on Saturday.
LOS ANGELES:  Need a good chuckle? Enjoy Comedy in the Park at the park La Brea Theater.  This family event will have you laughing all night.  Lots of talent to be seen and possibly even celebs too!
NORTHRIDGE: Get a head start on your child’s chances for college.  Free PSAT practice test is being offered at CSUN.  This important test can help improve your child’s scores & entrance options.
SANTA MONICA: Do you know your hydrangeas from your orchids?  Then perhaps the La Ballona Valley Bromeliad society Annual Bromeliad Show and sale is right up your alley.  It’s the perfect opportunity to get in touch with your green thumb and maybe get a plant for mom.
SHERMAN OAKS: 2014 World Music and Art Festival kicks off in Sherman Oaks.  This free event is for all ages and will entertain you with exactly as advertised: music and art.  Things that go together like peanut butter and jelly.
WESTSIDE: With Mother’s Day around the corner, it’s a perfect time for a Mommy and Me Fair and boutique being held at the YWCA in Santa Monica/Westside.  Tons of samples and vendors to pamper mom  means she won’t even have to open her pocketbook.
WOODLAND HILLS: There’s no better way to escape the heat than to be at the mall.  Westfield Topanga VIPink Weekend helps raise money for Breast and ovarian cancers thru the Bright Pink charity.  Tons of exclusive deals, food, and entertainment running thru May 4th

Sunday May 4th

BURBANK: Looking to give a pet a forever home?  Head on down to the Burbank Animal Shelter.  There will be activities for the kids, prizes and experts to answer your pet questions.
CHATSWORTH: For the car buffs of the family, the only place to be this weekend is the 32nd Annual Classic Chevys of SoCal Car Show. Tons of cars (literally) and tons of celebs will be hanging around the at the Rancho San Antonio Boys town in Chatsworth.
FRANKLIN CANYON: Before Mother’s Day is here, a great activity to teach the kiddos to find Hidden Treasures in Nature on this Franklin Canyon walk.  This fun time is for 3-8 year olds accompanied by an adult.
STUDIO CITY: Car Free Sunday is back in Studio City!  Are you ready to go car free?  Come on down and get involved in this local community block event.
TARZANA: Being a parent of a premature baby is not easy.  Parents of Preemies Day 2014 will be held at Providence Tarzana Medical Center.  This event help bring people together that share the common bond of a premature baby. There will be entertainment and giveaway plus the opportunity to connect with someone in your shoes.

Friday May 9th

ATWATER VILLAGE: This Mother’s Day weekend Marsh Park will be hosting a Mommy, Me, and the River event in an effort to help children appreciate the beauty of the world around us.
NEWBURY PARK: If you’ve ever secretly had ambitions to be a rock star, then join a Bass Clinic held by the legendary Tower of Power bassist Rocco Prestia.  No better way than to learn from a legend.
NORTH HOLLYWOOD: Does Mom like to play games?  Rather than another round of hide and go seek, head to come on down to the North Hollywood Carnival between Friday and Sunday.

Saturday May 10th

ARCADIA: Start your engines, come on down to the Ford EcoBoost Challenge Tour at Santa Anita Race track.  Check out the latest Ford innovations and race around in something sportier than you drive.
LOS ANGELES:  Looking for something free to do with mom?  Take her to the mountains!  Meet at Vista Hermosa Park and take a bus to the King Gillette Ranch for some fresh air and wide open space.  There’s a lake to relax by, take a hike (literally) or visit the visitors center.
SHERMAN OAKS: Sherman oaks friends of the library present a Book Sale (and CDs and DVDs) happening at the Sherman Oaks Library with all proceeds going to the library.
SHERMAN OAKS: Celebrate mom internationally.  Riverside Drive Elementary is having an International Bazaar.  Entertainment, food and games will all be there.  Come on down, make a craft and bring mom.
WOODLAND HILLS: It’s the most wonderful time of the year, fair time.  Serrania Fun Fair has all the bells and whistles of the fairs you enjoyed as a kid.  Come on down. This family event has it all.
