COSTA MESA: Throughout the month of September, South Coast Plaza plays host to the Festival of Children. More than 100 events are planned, including stage performances and hands-on activities.

The events are too numerous to list here, but a few highlights include a Back-to-School fashion show, magicians, dancers, animal shows, a princess party, LEGO craft activities and performances by magicians, martial artists, dancers, musicians, and more. See more here.

RESEDA: Attend a gentle yoga session for free at the West Valley Regional Branch Library with a certified yoga instructor. You will learn how to calm your body and your mind. All levels are welcome, you just need to bring your own mat or towel and water for hydration. See more here.

VENICE BEACH: Dog for Dog Hosts A “Dog Day Afternoon” – Dog for Dog hosts the return of “Dog Day Afternoon” to the iconic Venice watering hole The Lincoln on Sunday, September 9th. Guests can bring their pooches to the patio, where they can take photos by Michael Dill-Cruz and receive a digital portrait of their pets. DTLA: Synchronized Swimming Introductory Class and Team Try Outs – Come join us and give synchronized swimming a try!

For beginning or experienced synchronized swimmers who are interested in taking their skills to the next level. Participants must be youth ages 7-17 years old, able to comfortably and safely swim in deep water. See more here.

DTLA: Introduction To Glassworking And Glassblowing With Kazuki Takizawa – Step into the hot shop and work with glassblowing artist Kazuki Takizawa at KT Glassworks during this unique introductory workshop. Learn molten color mixing techniques and basic glassblowing to create a solid glass paperweight and one other small glassblown form. Works will be available for pick-up at a later date.

PASADENA: Performance On The Frog: Tongva Family Dancers – Experience Southern California’s indigenous Coastal Maritime culture with songs, dance and storytelling by the Tongva Family Dancers. STUDIO CITY: Ladybug Music Free Trial Class – Sing, dance, and play while your little one learns about rhythm, tempo, and pitch.
